Responsibilities

You will collaborate with talented engineers, program managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver new features to Microsoft Stream in collaboration (one example is innovation in transcription experiences). You will partner with teams across Microsoft to incorporate cutting edge machine learning and AI technologies (such as Azure Cognitive Services). You will be data driven in setting goals and measuring success while moving toward a clear focus on what’s best for the customer. You will deliver continuous innovation through safe roll-out practices and adhere to compliance requirements to maintain the Microsoft brand of trust. Some other responsibilities include:

Implement high quality features that need little attention after completion and raise the bar on the code written by others.
Have well-thought-out designs that consider accessibility, reliability, performance, and cost.
Mentor junior members of the team through design reviews, code reviews, and leading by example with inclusion for all aspects of collaboration.
Participate in and evolve the team’s culture.

Qualifications

Required

3+ years of software engineering experience (C++, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, or equivalent).
A BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent technical, design, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.

Preferred

Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and create solutions across many products.
Experience with one or more of these technologies – modern web development frameworks, large scale cloud services, and/or video processing and streaming technologies.
Growth mindset with a desire to learn, persist through challenges, and embrace failure as an opportunity to evolve.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
